There is no gain settings. There is bass boost, low pass, subsonic (i think) filter, and one that changes voltage from 6 to .2

That last one is the gain.. go halfway with it

turn the radio on and go back and see if the sub is moving at all, like put your hand on it and feel if its vibrating. if it is, then your amp settings or head unit setting need to be turned up. is the amp a 2 channel amp by chance? if it is make sure oyur on LPF and that the LPF is set to about 80. and if its a mono, make sure the LPF is set ot aorund 80 and the Subsonic filter (if it has one) is set to the tuning of the box. if sealed you can turn it to 0 or w/e it is.

no go to what your rca voltage is with it. if the pre out voltage is 4 then go to 4 if its 5 go to 5.

I can help you rule some things out.

It cannot be your remote wire or your amp would not come on. It could also not be your ground nor power wires to the amp.

Things it could be:

Even though you followed that wiring diagram, you DID realize it was all positives connected together and all negatives connected together?

Next, turn your low pass crossover to the highest value, or set it to "off" or "flat" Do the same in your head unit.

With a song playing, slowly turn your gain up. Do not turn it past 1/4 if you still don't hear anything at all.

Turn your subsonic to about 30-35 if you have a ported box and don't know what it's tuned to. If it's a sealed box turn it to "off".

I know you did this, but you might want to double check that you stripped enough. This has gotten me before (not enough stripped). You also might check the output of the amp with a dmm to see if you're getting any kind of signal there.

Guess it was the gain. I thought I had turned it up enough but guess not. Thanks for everyone who put up with my slew of questions while I was trying to get this to work. Does giving the sub a break in period really help? Or can I start turning it up now?

ANd the box is ported tuned to 33.6 2.14 cubes.

I wouldn't max it yet but you can give it some hell. Don't worry too much about it. Turn your subsonic filter to your box's tuning freq.

Since you have sw out on the hu, you also have a xover for it. Turn the LPF to max or off, subsonic to a little above tuning for safety, I mean like 3-5 hz, just a cun t hair really
