Ugh.. Not working..

I have 4awg power wire running from battery to amp with inline fuse @ battery. I have 4awg ground going from amp to a part of my car which i scraped all of the paint away to leave bare metal. I have connected this with self tapping screws. I have a remote wire going from my amp to the blue/white stripe wire in my hu wiring harness. I have RCA cables going from my head unit to to the amp. I am using 12 awg speaker wire from amp to sub, using this wiring diagram as reference (have also used the rockford one, which says the same thing):

I turn my car on, amp power light comes on, sub doesn't hit. I tried changing the wires, wiring a different way, still no luck. The only thing I can thinkof is that the sub isn't getting a signal. There are 4 rca connectors on my hu, one says sw the other one is unmarked I believe. There are also 4 on my amp, one set says input one says output. I tried switching them around, but I assumed it should be on input and sw. Also, the RCA's have the built in remote wire that I'm not using because I'm running a different turn on already. Could this be the reason why its not working? I've tried everything I could think of.

The protect light on my amp is not lit, but the power light is.

Amp is the MB Quart DSC 1000.1

Sub is Alpine SWR 1242D with dual 4 ohm voicecoils.

You may have to turn the sub output on from the headunit.

Do you have a DMM?

You have a subout on the HU, which the amp is plugged into correct? If so, you need to go into the HU menu and A) turn the sw on B) turn the sw up or C) combo of a and b

Is the subwoofer turned on on your headunit?

Maybe your sub is blown? Or maybe the channel no longer works on the amp? I dunno, just throwin out ideas.

Everything is brand new so that shouldn't be the problem.

All right, well that's good. I would make sure the RCAs are secured from your amp to your head unit.

They are definitely in securely.

Did you cut off a bit of the insulation before you wired your sub to your amp?

try a new set of rca's. or if you have an ipod and a headphone jack with rca ends, you can plug those in to the amp to see if any sound comes out.
