I add another 12" IDMAX to my setup and also give it the same power, just over 700watts? Someone told me it would only be 3db. seems kinda low.

I have heard a 3 DB increase for everytime you double the power. I could be wrong, but this is just what i have heard before.

well in this case I would be doubling the power and doubleing the subs.. so would it be a 6 db gain?

I guess for 6 dbs its worth the upgrade for me I will notice a nice difference in sound, and shaking and rumbling and unfortunatly rattleing.

If you have one sub and you give it 700 watt and then add another sub in and give that one 700 watts, you should theoretically gain 6 dB ...
