Man, I finally got everything in the car tonight, set my gains, took her out of the garage, and ultimate dissappointment.
I am running two Alpine Type R 12's (4ohm DVC wired to 2ohm) with 2 Alpine MRD-M605's (one each) in a sealed .995 cu ft box. I built the boxes and have 2 sheets of 3/4" MDF on the front to flushmount each sub (could this be he problem?) . I have the Amp rack (3/4" MDF as well) upright behind the back seats and the subs rear-firing. I don't seem to get the amount of bass inside the car I was expecting. I popped the trunk and the subs are moving pretty good, but nothing in the car. The amps are getting at least 13V ea when running, which should put out ~400-600rms @ 2 ohm. This is all in a 2002 Jetta. When the back seats are folded all the way down, the output is decent, but when up, it sounds very dissapointing. I was expecting much more out of this setup, and hopefully I have made a n00b mistake someone can help me out with.
Gains were set using DMM and headunit is Kenwood DDX7017 (I beleive it has 5V Preouts). Any help, advice, kick in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
***.995 cu ft per sub *** just to straighten it out.
