Type R vs. L7 *SPL*

i thinking about running a L5 15 on a directed 1500d @2ohms 800 watts it should sound good ported 5.6 cuft. and by the L5 15 is just like having a 18 it should put out some good spl but polecat would be the to ask about kicker

ill be running one 15" L7 d2 in a ported 3.5cube net box tuned to 35hz with an Orion 1200d at 1 ohm. how do you think it will sound ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

It should sound pretty good. I would make that box a bit larger though. 4.5 is better for the l7s.

Just because a sub costs more does not necessarily mean it pushes out greater SPL... The X is a SQL driver moron.
you sir, are the moron. Reread my post you tard. I said, that the X (which is the more expensive sub) is the SQ driver, whereas the R (the cheaper sub) is the spl driver. Which happens to be the same point you made. So congratulations of flunking the 4th grade reading assesment.

For the power, i'd say it would be a close battle, but i'd probably put my money on the L7.

But it does depend on a few other factors such as box size/tuning/peak frequency/etc.

Both would perform pretty similarly though.

For a lower note, daily driver box with that power i'd say the type-r would fair SLIGHTLY better. L7's can get loud without a doubt, but IMO not in the frequency range the type-r is capable of.

That box seems too big to me
go to audioenhancers.com there boxs made by them for kickers L series 5.6CUFT. they are built to kickers specs to preform above there spl specs well built boxs i have had one for 5 months for 1 15cvr sloted and the sub sounds like two not one

IIRC someone broke a 160 in a street dB Drag car with 2 10" L7's...
I'd take the L7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
if you also recall correctly the subs had to be reconed after every burp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

Erm....you're wrong.

Broke about 8 of them according to the owner....and has yet to blow one during a competition....

157.2 in a street setup...one battery, no wall...ported box.
