Type R vs. L7 *SPL*

eisenhower, chill the hell out
L7 will pwn a Type R any day of the week. Want a better comparison?

12" Alpine Type X vs 12" Kicker L7 with 1kw going to either, then you have a better comparison.

Go L7
Not really even then. Because the Type X is a sq driver. The Type R will kill the X is Spl if im not mistaken. Never heard an X, but im pretty sure they are alpines sq driver where as the R is the spl driver.

It all depends on how much space you are using and the tuning aswell. Type R will slam in a smaller box than the L7's. L7s require more air space.

The Type R will throw the score in a lower tuning to where the L7 will throw it at a slightly higher tuning freq. compared to the R.

..How do you figure?
personal experience with each driver.....maybe other people think otherwise, this is just my opinion.

15'' version of either sub,in a well constructed/designed box will sound *roughly* the same.

well....i dunno about the new 06 L7's though, they are supposed to be more bada.ss

check into mark at TCAB, hes had plenty of real-world testing with both drivers.

actually, you can use the CRX style L7 box and it will be really small..

straight spl higher tuned box if your competing L7 wins lower tuning more muscial setup daily driver I take type-r for the kill plain and simple they both can handle alot of watts for burps and daily driver play.

Just because a sub costs more does not necessarily mean it pushes out greater SPL... The X is a SQL driver moron.

i was thinking about putting my 15" l5 in a tcab, but the way i want it would require an actual inperson convo with them guys, and they in ill. so i dont know

I can vouch for that. I just heard a guys 2 L7 15's from this forum. My 1 Type R 15 go quite a bit lower and louder My box is tuned to 30 hz his was at 34 . His his higher bass was louder, but he had 2 and a higher tune.

type-r has more output then the type-x, type-x is a little clearer, no comparison on the spl side though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

also to the one that said the type-r will get loud in a smaller box, it depends on what you consider a small box I guess...
