For the 10's and 12's maybe, but the 15's can take a LOT more abuse. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifi really dont see how you can without turning it down it and letting it cool every 20 seconds...
No sub is going to take possibly double its rated power for 2 hours straight. Especially when its a $200 sub. I don't get how having the gain nearly all the way down would do that to ANY sub, let alone one that is as strong as a type-r 15" (for the money). You cooked your coil slowly over time, thus making me think that you were clipping it. I completely destroyed the coil on my 10" because i was feeding it 2kw for a streetbeat run, smashed the former and weakened the glue on the coil. But the winding material itself was still in very good shape just like how it was when I first bought it.how?
when i use em i use em for a good 1-2 hours a day, sometimes more, like 2-3 hours at a time depending if its a long trip. i just always had to turn em down to let em cool.
I'm glad you learned your lesson and stopped listening to potts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifwell i heard so much hype about people running them and mark potts assured me that his 15" R "takes a 2500D no problem all day long" so i figued it would be pretty resiliant.
i beat the hell out of my stuff... i want to at least be able to listen to a full song at high volume...
but thats when i bought cheap stuff, and i learned my lesson //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
and then do what with it? loldude, just have fi recone it for you.
