two type r 12's or one off of the Bxi1606

I had trouble getting my 1 12" enclosure 2.0cuft + more for port. Have to take the rear seat frame out. 2 12"'s are possible but you have to be REALLY careful how you design that box.

 
honestly to make it easier on you id say sealed. itll be alot easier for you to fit the box in the trunk and if you cant give give them the proper box volume for what they need it just wouldnt be worth it.

Sealed is best for your situation.... and that says alot coming from me since all my boxes are usually ported

as far as sounding better...meh depends who you too

"better" is a relative term, I just meant the freq. response will be flatter and they will sound pretty much as good as possible at most frequencies... also will be "tighter" bass even though I know you guys don't like that term. Might not get as low, but in a big enough sealed box it can get as low as you need it to (actually in the 1 cube I had mine in, it went lower than I needed, or anticipated for that matter).

either way I bet he will be satisfied
