two type r 12's or one off of the Bxi1606

This is going in the back of a 99 mustang hopefully. Should I run two type r 12's in a ported box or 1 12 in an ideal box? what would be the ideal box for 1 12 in this setup? This would be a daily driven car so I'm looking for spl and sq.

Well.. I just switched from two type R's in a cramped box, to one in a good sized box...

Sounds SOSOSOSOSO much better, I mean the SQ is 3x better now, but it's not quite as loud...

I know theres not much room in that car so i would say do two of them in around 3.5 cubes sealed if you can fit that. I know thats not one of your choices but it probably will sound better and be almost as loud as two crammed in a small box.

a single 12 fits nicely in mustangs. 1 4'' aero and 2.5 cubes net.

well I think I am going to get one 12 with 2 ohm voice coils. I'll play that and if that is not good enough. Then I'll get one with 2ohm vc, sell my amp and get one that is .5ohm stable. What do yall think?

uhh I would do two... they will be happy with the 750ish watts rms each (assuming overrated power on the hifonics). Even off 400-600rms, the type-r will POUND.

dual 4 ohms would be a final load of 1 ohm on that amp, which would be perfect for them. also dont be afraid to seal them off if you cant fit them ported, trust me itll be loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif and sound BETTER!!!

I would try to fit a ported box, but dont just build one and have it not fit, try to design one within the limits of your space and see if you can find something that will work

if not, sealed will be fine. I had a single 12" type-r sealed off with 600 watts in an eclipse coupe (one of my old cars) and it caused me to lose some hearing... seriously.

I just put 2 12's in a ported box in my 02 mustang and the box is 2.5 cubes. Lets just say to get the box in, the entire rear interior including seats were laying in the yard. Good luck with that man. It can be done tho. I would go with the 2 type rs.
