Last weekend me and my buddy installed my system. Consisted of Alpine PDX 2.150 to my SPX-17ref (blown pieces of shit) an Fi Q 12" and a kicker 06zx1000.1 and the big 3. The sub is in a sealed 1.2cft box. Im not sure if the tuneing sucks or either this sub just isnt that great, but im not impressed with this thing what so ever. I think my logitech Z-5500 10" long throw with 188 RMS is louder and cleaner...im not sure how everything is tuned because jacobman did it, but what are the basics you need to know here? Also, would it help if i just built a ported box that took up half my backseat and just cover it so no one knows its a sub lol? I am seriously saddened with this thing. I was expecting some LOUD clean bass where if i turned it up it would hurt my ear drums and vibrate the shit out of my truck, but its like there isnt even a sub in my truck? wtf? Any help would be appreciated, im gonna be gettin some phoenix gold rsd 6.5cs's and replace these stupid alpine spx-17 ref but there on backorder all over the place so im not gonna get it for 3-4 weeks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

your probably right about the noob install, and yes I do have the sub pointing up on my backseat or lift the backseat up and put it behind the front middle seat pointed upwards.

One thing I am sure of is you are experiencing some level of cancelation by placing the sub in the center of the car. What kind of car is it?

Did the RCAs get switched from the sub amp to the highs amp? You keep saying that the Alpines **** and are blown but when did you draw these conclusions?

The sub's coils could also be wired out of phase from each other which will kill output and make the sub seem non existent. Cross over settings should also be checked as this can really kill performance.

No you guys! This isn't a car lmao! Its in a dodge ram 1500 quad-cab! I wish this was in a car but no its gotta be difficult. I've got the sub right behind my middle seat pointing upwards.

I'm gonna go someplace today that is professional because this makes I'd really sad. 1700 dollars in car audio and my 200 dollar logitech system gets louder and cleaner haha.

theyll probably charge you just for looking at it. try pointing it in different directions. if you know how to , check your gain/filter settings on the amp and HU and get back to us.

I'll see if I can figure it out. Nah I won't be charged the owner is a good friend of mine. I'll see if I can get the info on the gain and all the other stuff and post it up. Thanks for your help guys!
