Two hdc3 15s or one hdc4 18

O p everything these guys are telling you is true I have seen 112 in a good proper sized box destroy 215 in a crap box both setups were mine back in the day before I researched anything or really even cared to learn and just wanted to bang as hard as possible threw two fifteens in and it was cool but never sounded quite right replaced it with 112 in a custom box on the same power and it was way way louder and cleaner
Ahaa, so two hdc3 12s would be louder than the same subs just bigger ( two 15s)? Given the same box/power/even same sub series?

My current setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif) hahah custom box from CAF mehe jk..

Put a pair of 12's in a 4-5ft3 net box ported for your power and you'll be golden... it'll be a lot better than a ton of cone stuffed into a small box... lol

2500 watts?.. what amp are you using?

Yes it will be louder and it will sound better the box is everything having your subs in the right enclosure makes more difference then just about anything else in car audio

Its not a "mainstream" one: Dynabel 7501, decent amp here in europe. Puts out rated

750 @4

1600 @2

2500 @1

If i remember correctly

I'm curious... couldn't find even 1 image online... got any pics, maybe of signal inputs/controls and power inputs?

But btw guys, those four 15s were a test really, goin to go back to the two inverted 15s or like all of you are saying upgrading? To two 12s instead

The woofers are from the Cerwin vega Xls-215 home speakers, had them laying around at home so i put them in the car for fun and it works alright actually, but now i want to buy a upgrade, apparently 12s is the way to go in a electric car..

You shouldn't need to spend too much to upgrade... of course IDK what's available locally to you... a pair of decent 1000 watters should match up well with a 2500 watt amp... but get the box designed for your car and specific driver/power level for best results. No HT (21hz?... wow) tuning... a car enclosure responds very differently and usually a 35hz-32hz tune is where most people who want to get low end up as a daily tune with a decent box. Electric car?.. how strong is the electrical in that? I'm at a loss, it's new to me.

Very little i can do with the stock electrical, there is no alt just a dc to something converter that powers the 12v battery in the front. The subs in the back have two 105ah batteries hooked up in parallel with 0awg cables that have nothing to do with the cars electrical (have to charge the sub batteries every once in a while, usually sundays when the car doesnt need much juice) but its not much additional stress really. Get very little voltage drop cuz its all just the batteries and no alt "running/cutting" out.

Lets put it this way.... even 1 hdc 12 in a proper box will be louder than two hdc3 18s or 15s shoved in 5 cubes. These arent home audio subs where they can work in small boxes. These are real subwoofers that displace real air. You rob them of the airspace they need to perform, they wont put out any bass, plain and simple. Especially when you barely have enough power to just tickle one HDC3. A pair of hdc3s like around 5k power and a pair of hdc4s like around an 8k amp to perform.

Hey I had 2 of those cerwin Vega xl 18s in a giant box in my closet back when I was in high school.

Also had 1 of them in my eagle talon back in 2002 when I was 18 lol
