Two 4 ohm DC lvl 2 to 1 ohm stable

I have two DC Audio Level 2 12"s on a 1.2k. I wired them to SonicElectronix and Crutchfield wiring diagrams and both came out to ~1.8 ohm instead of 1. How big of a difference would it be if I left it as it is?

Is seen variance in final load testing, buy not that high. Test each coil individually and see what you get. Might just be a higher average.

So you're closer to 2 final then. Your amp will see closer to 2.

Add another 12 and it will get you closer, just can go under 1......

What amp you running? I also wonder if your dmm is calibrated. Do you have access to another one for testing?

Amp is a DC 1.2k. The dmm also works, I have a couple of them. I've also wired everything so that all I need to do is put the top on the box and call it finished. But when I play music (setting gains) the subs barely play. I tested the terminals where the speaker wire go and it's hitting 20 ohms.

How did you set the gains? Should be around 37-38v ac.

Ok I touched the leads together on the dmm again and it read about .8, so disregarding everything the ohm load is now somewhere around 1. But when I start playing music, it shoots up to ~25 ohms and just fluctuates. Is that normal?

You can't measure ohms while the sub is connected and you especially can't measure ohms while the amp is driving voltage to the sub.

With the right gain setting you should have no more than 35v ac to the subs@ 1 ohm

Its impedance/box rise, its normal

I used this - How to Tune and Adjust Amplifier Gains and Bass Boost - Knowledge Base - to set them.

I'll try this - How to Adjust Amplifier Gains Using a Digital Multi-Meter - Knowledge Base - tomorrow when I have an accurate dmm.
