Tryin to get big..just started lifting. Any advice?

I took the last 4 years off while I was married but most of my muscle memory remained just flab on top, I have been training again since april. I truly believe this the more muscle you have the quicker you drop weight. At my peak I was 205 in the morning dry, 211 throughout the day 445 bench, 535 squat, about 33 inch waiste, 17.5 neck

I can tell you what doesn't work. Quitting the gym, starting smoking again, and hittin the beer and fast food.
I now look like an ethiopian buddha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
lol nice mental image of an ethiopan buddha haha..

and as long as u hit the gym regularly ( and didnt quit ) u would be alright with most of that... i mean u pretty much described my night tonight.

i wouldnt know anything about losing weight or working out tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif... I mean I only weighed 275 size 42" waist before, cut down to around 160 29" waist, and now im about 187 29" waist

Lift heavy (with proper form... for example, benching 300 the wrong way might mess you up but putting up 225 the right will give you the results you want), eat a lot. That's it.
I agree with this. Problem I stopped working out and kept

eating.

6 smaller high protein meals a day, a daily vitamin, proper form when working out, you will see better results if you have great form, squats and deadlifts, working out your core is the key to overall size.
when you say proper form, please explain this? because when people say proper form they normally mean STRICT on everything. im sorry but some ****ing body english into the lift. if he is not going to be doing ONLY isolation exercises their is no reason to not use some english in your lifts.

sorry to vent on you but it is all to common ppl say use strict form.

i eat alot of red meat, and foods with high proteins, but i eat 4 portions a day every other day, but on the odd days i eat nothing but greens, and use the formula i was telling you about, Ripped. I noticed a difference in muscle increase within 2 weeks.
WTF DO NOT TAKE THAT ADVICE.

eat protien every day

no, no offense but no.
actually his comment was better advice then most advice given so far...

ah apparently the better advice started on page 2. I was getting scared....id throw in a comment about never lifting more then 35 pounders but i dont think many ppl would get it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Arnold rarely lifted more than 50lb dumb bells on his curls //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

All about isolation, baby! (To him)

dumb bells maybe....what about his legendary cheat curls? and arnold was not super strict with his movements

er let me fix that.. arnold was analy strict like alot of the newer lifters assume means strict. you are allowed body movement just dont be too crazy with it.

thats more alon the lines of what i was talking about, people will cheat curl 45-50 lb dumbells and ptting unneccesary strain on their back. also while benching, not arching the back to push the weight up, you dont believe that great results can be achieved with clean even form?

I have read numerous times that it is ok to cheat a little on the concentric part of the rep (lifting the weight) as long as you can let it down slowly enough for gains in the eccentric contraction. This is just on curls though.

DONT DO ANY SUPPLEMENTS.. I'VE PLAYED DIVISION I FOOTBALL AND SEMI-PRO... BEEN TRAINED BY MANY NFL TRAINERS.... I CAN USUALLY OUT ARMWRESTLE ANY HUGE LOOKING SUPPLEMENT PUMPING WHIMPS OUT THERE B/C I WENT ALL NATURAL.. TAKE JERRY RICE and MARVIN HARRISON FOR EXAMPLE.. STILL TRUCK"N AT OLD AGE.. ALL NATURAL .... supplements will just give you looks and then turn to fat. It gives you short term strength. I haven't lifted for like 1 yr now, and still go into the gym at just a small decline on weight. let a supplement guy do that.. he'd be starting all over.
