Other plans have been made for the other enclosure so I started building this tonight. It's a transmission line tuned to 35hz with a .85ft^3 compression chamber and it's kind of self loading. It models up well and should fit in the trunk just fine.

Should sound nice, get loud enough, and get down low with ease:

This one requires much less wood than the horn:

Once this dries, I'll route the mounting baffle out and then it should all slap together:

Hopefully I'll have it drying tonight and can route the outer baffle and get it installed. At the very least I should have it in my room to get a listen.

Baffle is currently being clamped and once it's dry, I'll put the front panel on and then I only have to get the top secure. I'll finish routing the front tomorrow and probably do some rounding over as well.

Haha, yea, it should fit. And no, I don't use any screws. They are only an annoyance to me when finishing so I just clamp and glue. I'm ok waiting the 20-30 minutes for the glue to set. My cuts are usually square enough that I don't need screws to try to force it sealed. The only time I use them is if I'm in a rush and the person I'm doing it for doesn't care.

Front panel and top are both on and drying. Tomorrow I am going to cut out the front and give them a test drive on my computer setup. Time for a shower and some sleep.

Thanks. I just finished some routing, sanding, and rounding and I took some pics.

I found I need to change my filter as it came loose inside letting out a ton of dust. I also found that when it's on, it attracts to my finger like hair does with static. Pretty ****ing cool looking and feeling:

I am about to head back out and smooth out the round over by hand and then take them for a test ride!

Got everything sanded down and pretty and have it running in my room right now. It sounds very similar to how it models and so I'm pretty **** happy. It's noticeably not as efficient as the horn but it sounds a little cleaner (that could be due to the air leaks I had before taking them out and I don't have those problems with this one). The low end extension seems more pronounced too but that makes sense with hoffman's iron law. I gained space, low end efficiency, but lost over all efficiency.

Here it is setup in my room and ready to go in the car:

All I need to do now is run my power cable and I can get the amp and sub in the car and see how it sounds there. After listening to a few songs, I'm VERY impressed with this. It's still plenty loud, plays plenty low, and sounds extremely clean and seems to be pretty **** flat from about 25-120hz or so! It sounds better, gets louder, and plays lower than my IDQ 12 and I would say in my room that they're as loud, if not louder, than my AV12 too.

Box is nice, but im confused. Looks like you have 3 diff boxes there. One is painted black, but not rounded over or anything, and one is rounded over but not painted black, and the other looks like birch?
