tips on getting into hunting

this isnt the iceage. We have things called supermarkets. They are a reliable and safe place to feed people. Matter of fact i bought some beef today. Chips too. .
yeah and that beef full of preservatives and steriods and all sorts of other shit that aint natural

i can understand that but cant agree that its ok. I cammend you on not being the sterotyipical retarted 18 year old tacovic
how is it different than animals getting slaughtered in a slaugherhouse?

its more humaine and less brutal to hunt and butcher your own meat.

I won't kill a bug so i say find a new hobby. Who in the right mind gets off by killing inicent animals for there own sick pleasure.

You sir, are incredibly idiotic. Wildlife is one of our nation's most valuable resources and must be managed properly. Hunting is a very valuable tool used to accomplish this.

It is not a "sick" pleasure. The pleasure is not found by strictly killing the animal (for the majority of hunters). It is the hunt and what goes into it leading up to the harvest that is pleasurable. Outsmarting a witty 4 year old gobbler or a 4 1/2 year old mature whitetail is not easy to do. It is a complicated game that most never fully understand or are successful at.

We have things called automobile accidents that cost people millions every year. Deer/automobile collisions can total cars and lead to human death. Deer can have an enormous effect on crop production due to overbrowsing. Why the overbrowsing? An over population of deer. Overbrowsing takes away potential food for other wildlife. The deer get poorer in health, as do other animals that rely on the same food source.

And stick with your food from the supermarket. Wild game is much healthier, tastier, and not pumped full of chemicals as most of your store bought meat has been. Matter of fact, I ate some venison spaghetti tonight. Garlic bread too.

i can understand that but can't agree that itss ok. I cOmmend you on not being the sterEotyPical retarDed 18 year old tacovic(WTF?)

Fixed for the "retart".

pennsylvania department of natural resources website probably has some good info
x2. They should have all seasons, bag limits, and restrictions on the web site. Should also have the state's Wildlife Management Areas listed and their restrictions.

small game. something like a rabbit, duck, etc. the closest thing i come to hunting is shooting pigeons outside my house and killing rats in my friends house with a bb gun.
I have never got into small game hunting. Just wild turkey and white-tailed deer.

But as someone suggested...Look into public land (great hunting can be had), go to a local gun club or shooting range and get some practice in, read up articles on the internet regarding your desired game, etc. Hunting forums can be a HUGE help also.

I'd recommend a pump 12-gauge for the game you listed. A decent one can be had for a little over $300. If you want to hunt duck, you need one capable of shooting at least 3" shells.

Trust me when I say this..You will not regret getting started on this hobby.. Tons of memories to be made.

i have a 12 guage benelli nova pump and i love it. its extremely durable and very reliable. i ahve had it a couple of years with 0 problems. its also a plastic like material so if you get it wet it doesnt ruin it like it would a wood stock gun. just a reccomendation for a great gun. it can be had for around 300. and look for clubs and organizations around your area so that you can hook up with people who know what they are doing and maybe have land:D
