get it worse comes to worse you can pick up a 4g63 local for super cheap if the DSM blows

whats a 4g63, and whats this DSM? i just got back from test driving it as well, seems to be in decent shape. exception being when accelerating and it shifts(automatic) theres a slight stall when it changes gears.

If you don't know what the 4g63 engine is, you have no business being near a car.

Search on the board. Myself, and a few of my cohorts spit some troof about DSMs. Crankwalk was a problem because of a bearing being cut too thin, not a problem with the block, crank, or any other part of the engine. If it hasn't walked by now, then it's not going to. Mitsubishi replaced the bearing as part of a recall, so crankwalk is history, and sticks around as just bad stigma. And the 'Japanese' engine is a 4G63T, same one they had here. And it's GSX, not GTX.

Same engine code, but the engine itself is only similar.

Tell them to let you use the car and take it to a Dealer or Machanic and ask them if it is good and see if it can pass the smogg and look for all the minor things if everyone says okay, then you should be ready to roll but if they find one small problem i say you should stick with your money.

alright, i ended up test driving it and it's fairly decent. yea i meant gsx as well lol not gtx. so the engine shouldn't be a prob with getting parts for if need be if it has been used in so many cars? that'd be a nice bonus. i was mainly worried it had some special ghetto rigged engine in it, but i'll post up some pics when i get back in an hour or two. i don't even know if the box i recently built will fit in it or not lol

k, all i gotta do now is grab tags in the morning and i'll be gtg. so far so good it runs fine and is quite fun. havn't had it past 4k rpms on the road yet though lol, i was nervous about just gettin it home and testing it out first.

exhaust seems fine, a slight putter at idle gonna look into that.

what you guys think, worthwhile deal for 3k$?

oh yea the headlights are a little fogged up, already got an eye on some new ones, should i go with chrome or black clear?
