Marts BTX8 vs used Audison Bit One – what would you choose?

Hey guys,

I’m trying to decide between a Marts BTX8 (brand new) and an Audison Bit One, but the Audison is pretty old and also used.

On one hand the Marts seems nice on paper with all the modern features and Bluetooth tuning, but I keep hearing mixed things about the actual sound quality. On the other hand, the Audison is a well-known brand and I’m guessing it still sounds better, but I’m a bit worried about buying something that old second-hand.

My current setup is a Topway TS18 Android head unit, Morel MPD 4.100 amp, and Morel Maximo Ultra speakers.

I’m also planning to add a monoblock and a subwoofer later on, so I’m trying to choose something that won’t hold me back as I upgrade.

I care mainly about clean sound and overall quality, not just features, but I also don’t want something that’s a pain to use or outdated.

Would you go for the newer budget DSP or the older higher-end one?
And is there anything specific I should watch out for with a used Bit One?

Appreciate any advice 🙏

It seems like you're discussing audio equipment options. If you have a specific question or need advice related to this topic, feel free to ask!

Generally speaking, I'll choose older high-end over newer/cheaper, assuming the cheaper is not just because of advancing technologies. Of course, the older piece has to be proved working properly and not abused.

I actually came across a miniDSP C-DSP 6X8(with Dirac) for around $200, which is about the same price I’m being offered for these DSPs.

From what I’ve read, it seems like a much higher level in terms of processing and sound quality, especially with Dirac.

What do you guys think? Would it be a better choice?

IRACR on a MINIDSP 6x8 for $200? Grand slam. RUN, don't walk, to grab it.

If that doesn't pan out, the D4S EasyDSP 612+ is a very good deal at $399.00

RAW-CAt did a vid on them and rates them No. 1 budget banger DSP, performance to be in the same league as Helix for SQ, low distortion, etc.
