Building a new house is it a good time?

I'm looking at throwing together a new Bachelor Party pad it is about 2500 sq ft about 2000 heated...nothing big but modest floor plan it is 4 bedroom 2.5 baths two story...I'll probally mod floor plans some ....the cost is cheap only $110 a sq ft....I'll be paying cash for the place but I was curious if this price is high or should I hold out a while ....or will cost of materials go up if I wait and maybe cost more...i'm suppose to sign a contract in the next couple of weeks the contracter has been working on details...

it;s tough right now, unless the president can fix the economy then hopefully it will go down . I say build asap before gas goes up again! or just buy all the materieal and wait for all the people to be broke they wil build it for cheap then.

Personally I would not buy anything at the current moment unless it was a cheap investment to rent out, thankfully you are one hell of a buggy getter and believe you have a shitload of money coming in from a trust fund or whatever so I would say go for it! 110 is expensive. thats a standard price in california, so i assume it would be on the higher side in other states

This is just me, but unless your really set on a certain layout, I'd buy up a couple of houses right now and live in one, rent out one or two. The market is down (value decrease in the neighborhood of 36% in some places) so you can pick up houses at a discount right now. You have a steady flow of cash so in a year or two when the economy rebounds, you could sell for a profit.

Plus would help some of your funds go *coughs* legit *coughs*

Materials to build a home are generally in the $50-60 square foot range.. matching labor costs with material costs is "the norm" for QUALITY construction.

yeah thats what I was curious about and not sure of I was thinking it was a little high also...but they are blaming material cost mostly on the cost....I think the swimming pool was pretty reasonable it is right at 30K installed I'm going with a salt water pool....
