Thors 09 Build Log

i been watching this post and when a amp is a new design there are going to be flaws. This is unfortunate but Stetsom stands behind our product and with competitors like Rob we will work through these issues. We are going to send Rob another amp that will take higher voltage and see if that cures this problem. I have the first four of these amps and did lots and lots of testing to just set the gains. I know if I would have been there with you brother this amp probably wouldnt have burned, and if it would have i would have taken one out of my car and put it in there to finish the show. I am doing over 161db with two amps in my set up on 12 volts, My voltage never goes over 14.2 so I have not had any problems and my gains are set really low. I make the head unit do the work not the amp. after my rise I am seeing 3.1ohm and making 8540watts. At finals i will try a lower nominal imedience and get more power. I may just run two amps I may run four, dont knw till I get there and see the competition. Beajay had one amp fail and we think that was due to thermal issues, we unhooked this amp and ran teh other one for the rest of the show. He was doing demos in the HOT sun for hours on end before the amp failed and it was the one that was about 4 inches from the sheet metal of his trunk deck. These amps are real power houses when they get dialed in. Rob we will be strong in 2010. Lets see what all the haters say then...............

haha. man the stetsom rep reminds me of other shitty company reps. space it out, prepare a well formed arguement if you feel the need to argue, and then present the topic.

you remind me of some random kid coming online and argueing just to do it.

with that said, if these prove to not be failures, I may have to try some later on.

i dont think that he is representing them poorly.

doing so would be if he was lying saying that there are no issues with the product.

id really like to know why there is only a single 1/0 connector on the board.....wouldnt having more help with the heat issue?

maybe just a little........

Steve is by no means a random kid. North American Points champ for DBDrag, SS 1-2 points leader, Marylands loudest daily driver, 161+ using nothing but Stetsom for power.

By far one of the best most helpful reps I have ever dealt with. He was on the phone all day sunday with me dialing the amp in. Unfortunately it died.

Sheyot happens.

On the way.... 18v version of the 14k for me to test;)

Believe me I dont like it when an amp fails any more than you!!!!! I dont want to make excuses either, I am a competitor long before I was a rep for Stetsom, this isnt the first type of equipment I've used either, I just wanted those of you that are hatin on Stetsom to know that we are on top of this problem and are working to fix it. I personally have sold almost 50 of these amps here in north america and use them myself so I know what I am talking about. The question about the oga wire inputs, I use 3/0ga to my amps that might have something to do with mine holding up.....No they arent Prototypes, they are sold all over the planet and have been for almost a year. I think personally that the shipping is part of the problem too. They are getting beat up between here and Brazil. I have seen amps just destroyed in shipping especially UPS we are using Fed Ex international. DSMW I didnt come in here to set up any arguement just state our position and quell any misconseptions........

might be a good idea to have them looked over when they arrive then, check all the components and make sure to limit the possibility of something going wrong that could be prevented.

Thats what I'm talking about!!!!! Frankenwoofer. Me and Alan built this atomic sub with dd parts and we used the top of a coffee grounds can for a dust cap, I did like a 156 on a Banda amp. A few shows later we hooked it up to the generator on 110 it wouldnt blow so we hit the 220 side and after about 30 seconds she smoked. I was amazed that it took so long. I think that there is a video of it somewhere out there. Go Frankenwoofers!!!!!!
