I have a 450 amp car battery in my car and a 83 amp alt. I'll be running three amps in my sound system. I'm about to order a yellow top battery, and was wonder if my alt will be okay with this battery? I won't be running any neon lights or anything like that. So should a 83 amp alt be fine with a yellow top battery?

Yes alt should do fine wit hthat Battery i have Stock alt on my Yellow top and its fine

all really depends on how many watts your running. even with the best batterie in the world its only as good as your alt as you alt is what is chargin it and if it cant get enough power to it then the batterie is usless. my stock 100 amp alt seems to do fine with 600 watts but once i hook up 900 watts is where it starts to dim and things lose a little power

I'de recommend getting a starting battery for under the hood. But yes you should be fine if you stay under 1000 watts.

wow 3 amps for 600-700 watts--seems a bit excessive.
