This setup a good idea?

2000 Nissan sentrastock alt

diehard platinum battery

Big 3

Single run 0 gauge to the trunk

2 Kinetik hc800 cells

Stinger 30 farad cap

for an...

audioque 3500d

2 10" fi BL

2000 watts rms.

If anyone has any suggestions or cheaper options that will do the job just as well please let me know
As others have already said, lose the cap.

As for the Kinetik, why 2 HC800? Is it due to space restrictions? Because a single HC2000 will be cheaper most likely and less wiring as well. The model # on a Kinetik is the watts RMS they can handle. So youshould get the HC2000 if it fits in your setup.

Good luck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have a few more good questions that i've tried searching.
1. how do you guys crimp your 0 gauge ring terminals- a vice?

2. I also want to run a voltage gauge pod for voltage. Where will be the most accurate place to take a reading from?

3. How do you guys stop your batteries from sliding around the trunk?
1) I use a vice and then solder them. Make sure to use plenty of flux before you insert the wire into the terminal.

2) Most accurate for what? The entire car should have the same voltage. That is unless you isolate the rear battery(ies).

3) Build a base out of wood, use a bungie cord, glass it in, etc.... That is like asking how to mount an amp. Each guy does it different depending on the car.

it's half a space restriction half because I already have an 800 for my past 900 rms system
Then yes, pick up at least one more HC800, but you might want to consider two more. Two HC800 = 1600W RMS and three HC800 = 2400W RMS

You will have to make the call there.

All I have is an iron right now prob have to get a gun for this job and some flux
You can get a cheap butane powered torch and some flux for about $20. That will make very quick work of that solder job. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Torch $20

have you don the BIG 3????
do the big 3 and remove the cap and see what happens.

Nope and never will, harder on the engine worse gas mileage may fry computers more weight in the trunk with big a$$ batteries nope not for me and dont think you are going to tell me that there is nothing to worry about i aint doing it.

With three batteries in the trunk should i Link all three of their negative terminals and give one 0 gauge run to ground or should I give each battery it's own 0 gauge run of ground?

you sir are a retard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif What does doing the big three have to do with batteries in the trunk? Do you even know what it is? As for being harder on the engine that is not correct, it would actually be easier on things since there is a higher head room for the current to pass. Your computer wont fry and if anything your gas mileage will get better..now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

I can see worse on gas mileage with a high output alty, but It can fry the computer if you do it wrong, very very very wrong. I wonder ho many people have fried their car doing it? there are dummies out there. If you are going to increase current need its common sense to increase the delivery of it. O well just leave the hobby then.

If you are planning on running a big enough setup to where you need enough power to make you run 3-4 batteries gas mileage isn't going to be that big of a concern. If it fries the computer then I wonder how so many people on this forum and so many other competitors and bassheads are able to do it and drive the car's daily with no issues. Maybe if a retard like you does it then yea it might fry something, but take it to someone who isn't stupid to install it properly and you will never have a issue.
