manf put a certain alt in the car to take care of what is "stock" but when adding extra current draw to the car then upgrades are in need, reason why work trucks, limos have bigger alts and electrical systems. If a system is done properly then nothing will mess up the computer, no ifs ands or butts. By putting an upgraded alt on vehicle yes you may loose a few mpg but we're talking 1-2. Your engine will barely notice the new alt and wont have any problems at all. My main reason for calling you a retard is you responded to having the big 3 with a post full of bullshit...the big 3 done properly will do nothing of which you said end of story.

sorry for everyone ignoring you about this. I cant answer your question because Ive never done it but one thing you could do is look at someones build log to see how they did it if you dont get an answer.
