As others have already said, lose the cap.

I can see worse on gas mileage with a high output alty, but It can fry the computer if you do it wrong, very very very wrong. I wonder ho many people have fried their car doing it? there are dummies out there. If you are going to increase current need its common sense to increase the delivery of it. O well just leave the hobby then.
If you are planning on running a big enough setup to where you need enough power to make you run 3-4 batteries gas mileage isn't going to be that big of a concern. If it fries the computer then I wonder how so many people on this forum and so many other competitors and bassheads are able to do it and drive the car's daily with no issues. Maybe if a retard like you does it then yea it might fry something, but take it to someone who isn't stupid to install it properly and you will never have a issue.
