Now I understand the "double jeopardy" law, its to stop the government from harassing people that are

acquitted of a crime.

But, IMO, if a person that was acquitted turns around and admits to it.....well then all bets should be off.

if they only charged him with first they can charge him with a different degree could they not? they could claim it wasn't premeditated
