Although bluetooth isn't out yet I can say that it integrates with almost any of the BT phones out there.

Instead of dialing on your phone, the Avic-Z1 can dial for you from you address book as well as almost any of its POIs (there are over 11+ million).

Don't know much detail about it yet but it looks like a promising feature.

Bluetooth is out and I have it installed! It is absolutely amazing! Seemless integrationa nd I have no echo problems for the other person on the line. It is great. I have it paired up with my razr. It is very quick and very simple to use.

sweet because my girl wanted a screen in her car but i was also pointing her in the direction of getting jus the regular pioneer HU with bluetooth now that i see this Z1 it has turned all interest to this item

I'd like my sister to buy one, as she wants navigation, but she is looking for the cheapest one.

How does the HD work. I read it has 30 GB but 10GB can be used for music files. Is the hardrive for storing maps and POI and such?

Yep, the HDD uses 20GB to store all of its maps and data and then the other 10GB is used to store files. Ripping is actually pretty quick. I can burn a whole CD about 15 tracks longs in about a half hour, or one trip.

If your sis wants a cheaper Navi, I would suggest one of those Tom Toms or one of the standalone GPS systems. Those are also nice but of course you wouldn't have the CD playback and the seamless integration with the rest of your car audio system.

I suggest the Z1 alothough it is not cheap but this thing does eveything!

I would forget about the hard drive for the music files for now until someone cracks it because you have to burn your fiels to cd and then rip again and the quality isnt that great. I suggest getting an iPod adatper which are $50 now and just use that. The integration is awesome.

Yea, when the Z1 does rip CDs, it uses some type of compression so the quality isn't that great (probably around 128kbps).

****...you cant change the burn quality? I am going home after work today to install mine after sitting pretty in the box for weeks now....
