Don't know if there's any truth to that though.

We should have a Z1 in soon so I can mess with one...

I also heard don't have to bypass gyro, just run illumination to a +12v switch

I posted that calculation to show what the price was less than for the guy that thought it was ~$500. I am aware that sonicelectronix has it for 1699 but that is the best price I have seen.

I checked Froogle and a company called fotoconnection.com reports having the z1 in stock for $1479.00. Never heard of the company, but maybe that is one of the sources.

There are alot of places that have low prices. But alot of these stores have very low quality ratings.

Ebay is a great place to get low prices for these units. But make sure you know who you are dealing with as I did.
