The Z1 has arrived (Pics too!)

If you do not buy from an authorized dealer then Pioneer is not obligated to honor the manufacturers warranty. That does not mean that they absolutely will not honor the warranty, but you are taking a big chance.

Most authorized dealers charge ~90 - 100% of MSRP, but you get a warranty.

According to the Pioneer website there are only 6 online retailers from which you can purchase and get a warranty. Neither of them has a sub 70% MSRP price tag on there units. This means that the OP must have been 1. misled about the warranty, 2. purchased from a local brick and mortar with a great discount, or 3. blowing smoke up the ***** of the masses. I say it's probably option 2, but no matter what that is a very nice deal. I may even take my chances on some of these places eventually.

so have you been able to bypass the video locking thing? Are you able to watch a movie or input destinations while driving? It would seem to kill a lot of the functionality if you cant watch a movie while driving. I mean who will get into their car to just watch a movie, especially on long trips and stuff.

Bypassing is very easy. And with bypassing you can do all that you want while driving although I wouldn't suggest it.

avic411.com will give you all the info.

When I meant I got a warranty with my Avic-Z1 I didn't necessarily mean that it was from the manufacturer. My warranty is with the seller, which means if the unit is defective (but it wasn't) than I would get a replacement from the seller.

I thought I made it clear before but I got my unit off of ebay. It was $1525 shipped and came in brand new factory condition. The unit came with a unique registration number and everything. If you know how to install then most people won't even need a warranty but I am not saying a warranty is a bad thing.

Oh and by the way that video is coming up soon!

I see. ndnbolla thanks! I guess ur using the guys "flashing mod" thanks for the site. Please post more reviews though on the unit Im getting more and more excited asbout this thing.

quick question. Does this unnit have a dedicated sub woofer volume control? So that I can adjust the sub level. (Im not talking about the overall bass control of the system). Thanks.
