THE sub on 250wrms

I am setting up a sound system for my car. Once I get the money, I will be buying and installing it. I am looking at the Premier DEH-780MP for the deck. Either Crystal SSCS or Rainbow SLC's for the front stage comps. I already have some Pioneer 6x9s that I will be using for rear fill. The amp I will be getting is the JL Audio 500/5. Here are some of the specs on it...

Front Channels: 100 W RMS x 2 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V)

Rear Channels: 25 W RMS x 2 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V)

Subwoofer Channel: 250 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V)

Now, what sub will be THE sub to get that will sound great on 250 watts RMS. I know that it won't get that loud, but I'm not looking for loudness. I just want a crystal clear, distortion free sub. I am looking mainly for sound quality. I don't care about size of the sub, I just don't want to go bigger than a 12". I've done a lot of research, and am not really sure where to start on the sub. So please, help me out. Thanks.

I am on the West coast. Just outside of Grand Haven. I see that you're from Michigan as well. Where abouts are you located?

Sorry, I forgot to mention this. I wouldn't like to spend more than $250 on my sub.

Well, not if you properly sound deaden everything. You shouldn't be able to hear the exhaust. Plus, those Flowmasters sound amazing, with that deep V8 tone. I don't mind listening to them every now and then.

What's your deal? Nothing wrong with having some Flowmasters on a V8, and having a sound system as well. I want to sound good on the inside, AND the outside.

How do you like the SHO? I just sold my ebony satin 97 a couple months ago. When I had my SHO I had a 12" SoundSplinter Rl-p in a 2 cubic foot box tuned to 31 hz. Everyone I know loved how it sounded and it sounded like it was going to rattle my Taurus apart. An Rl-p goes for around $250 but I don't know how it would do with 250 wrms.

I'm loving it, except my driver's side front window won't go up... I'll have to get that fixed soon. I'll be getting my cams welded on the 2nd, decided to do this before I bought any audio stuff. I'll be putting an aftermarket head unit in where the ashtray/cig lighter is now. It should look pretty snazzy when it's done. Why did you sell you SHO?
