fear it's wrath!!!

and whys that?

I have been told from the local car audio shop (Sound America), that bass in front of you like that will over power the interior speakers. I have heard a couple people say that you should not put a sub in front of you as well, but I guess people are idiots.. The shop over here is very reputable, so I normally assume they know what they are talking about.

if your truck has about the same space as the one in the pic,

you may have enough depth to fit the sub and an extra 1" of depth for the board and clearance, you could do the sealed or ported, i would not think of using band pass for the simple fact that you don't have enough area for it.

it looks like you have 30" width x 16" high x ? depth, youll do fine with a dual 10" sealed or single 10" ported.

on the alpine manual it says that a single 10" type r should be in a 1.3cu ft. I'm sure you can make the box bigger to get a little more bottom end bass, but if that's all the room you got the type r will sound just fine in an 0.6~1.3cu ft ported or 0.6~0.8 cf sealed.

i got mine in a sealed 0.7cu ft and i love it.
My truck has that exact amount of space.

Well i really wanted a 12.... how much louder is a 12 than a 10 will i be able to tell the difference in a reg cab truck?

and putting the sub in front of me was just an idea idk really id like it behind the seat but i wanted a 12 but ill prob get the 10 cause of my lack of space.

o well in my truck im not gonna have any fronts cause in my dash is the only place they are and they are blown so im not replacing those im just gonna leave them unhooked .

And im putting good pair of 6x9s in the rear spots. and in the future i might make some kick panels for some 6 1/2 s if i cant hear the words cause of the sub

they're incorrect, you want all the sound to sound like it's coming from in front of you

that's why many SQ competitors put their subs in the glove box or center consol

Ok well i think i will go with the 10" ported behind my seat since tommyk90s is a 10 and is loud as he11 they say.

Now vs time lol

My friends system

RF amp 900 watt

i agree,

most car audio shop, wont want to do it b/c of the installation difficulty level. and need to charge more or just dont want to go through the trouble.

and or are just idiots and dont know what they re talking about.

i have never gone to a concert to where the subs are in the back, or even movie theaters.

its hard to say,

but

he has more cone area then you he may be pushing the subs all right, i dont know since you didn't give rms power values.

and who knows if his sub box although custom, if it was built right.

as long as you get your sub box built right. you might match his system.

there is nothing wrong with 6x9 as long as you dont buy crap. get good quality speakers and you should be alright.

as long as you go through the trouble of planing and calculating your enclosure to get ether SPL, SQ, SQL out of it. you will be happy,

if you just make a box to fit your car with a hole and a tube stuck in it, it will sound like crap, lol.

so take your time design the box or pay some one to do it for you. and youll be happy with a single 10". unless you want more and more bass. then 2 10" would be perfect.
