i send mine 1200w daily, sb sends his 1400 daily, so as long as its clean power yes they can handle it...

I just heard some mixed thoughts on the type-r. Now i'm worried if Psyence toasted his. Would this amp satisfy the needs of these subs though?

i told you not to get that amp, if you wouldve gotten a better amp you wouldnt have had to turn the gains up so high, did you go past 1.5? if so they were to high...

This might seem like a stupid question, but, past 1.5 = 2?

idk well with my eq on flat i was able to set it to 1.5 w/o clipping, i know it varies so i know my post was pretty vague past means 1, .7(or whatever it goes to after 1), etc. the lower the number the higher the gain is.

you match it to the preout voltage of your HU or linedriver, not some arbitrary number like 1.5

Sorry to hear, but maybe you were just expecting too much out of the woofer? I really don't care what the hype says, there are limits to a $100 woofer. Sure, it's well built, but there are compromises in that design for the sake of cost. The high power you sent to it along with the lesser excursion of 50hz (less airflow?) could have overloaded it.

that woofer was cooked......u clipped the hell out the coil witch cause it to fry and u slammed that son of a bitc.h to the back plack and thus the dented coil......i've destroyed subs in my time but it was mostly outward overexcursion when the cone seperates from the surround
