i'd get some dual 4s and get another 1005 and put 1 on each or sell the amp and get sumthin that will run lil more power @2ohm.

it'll juss laugh at the amp, trust me if u dont have the amp already, i'd lookin it a diff amp honestly, sumthin wit a lil more power, great amp, but get sumthin wit atleast 1500w, dont the the 1500d will do 1500w though. but the 15R loves power

did 1 12" Type-R's off the MRD-M1005 (1000wRMS 2 ohm) dual 4 ohm sub, wired in 2 ohm

it rocks, the sub loves the power especailly in a well built box

that amp doesnt put out 1500, the directed 2400 only puts out 1200wrms....

ive heard both 12s under optimal sealed box size and 600 watts RMS a piece, the SE is a little ouder than the R sealed.
other way around for ported

Type S isn't musically loud, the SX beats it on music. The type R beats the SX on music, especially.

The SX only has the advantage in a 100% fart box.

If the Type-Rs can handle so much juice, as in, ive seem people running 1000W RMS to each coil, how come they are only rated for 500W RMS? What kind of sound does someone get out of 500W RMS to each sub??

Half of you used to ********** to their website and now I'm not seeing anything about them. Do they still make a decent speaker? Or am I better off with an Infinity perfect.

The 1500d will put out around 12-1300wrms. there wont be much of a difference from 1200 to 1500wrms. If he can get the directed for a lot cheaper than some 1500w amp, I would suggest the directed.

So I'm looking at making the box a little bigger than spec to compensate.

Pair of 12s, starting off with a sealed box...

I've got some numbers down that will fit my car pretty nicely, so far I'm looking at...

2.5cf

3.1cf

3.3cf

3.9cf

Any opinions? They call for 1.0 sealed, so I figured going with 1.5 sealed per would be nice... I'm leaning towards the 3.3 because of the extra space for the bracing and displacement. Any additional thoughts?

So 3.3 TOTAL, I think you would end up with a lil under 1.5net sealed per sub, depending on what you brace with.

I only have rated RMS to feed my R's...

So what's the problem? You're supposed to want the RMS.
