The Official Type R Thread

Well where are you ordering your type r's from? I think Im gonna order mine from ikesound.com for $105 a piece. Thats the cheapest i have found them so far.
Ikesound is a solid choice but there are several reliable ebay sellers who are slightly cheaper overall. Their shipping is kinda ridiculous( approximately $30) but you can get one for around $90...grand total of $120. Like I said, "slightly" cheaper.

I'm not completely happy with my AA Atlas 12 so I've been looking at the '05 Type-R 12's. It's either a Type-R right now(and a bigger amp) or wait several months until AA comes out with their wider array of subs.

I'm seriously thinking about making a move on the Type-R.

Because its a new redesigned sub and they overbuilt it. Think of it this way. People who dont know that the Type R can take beyond its RMS will push it with their RMS and the R will never fail so it will be considered to be indestructable and durable

well I finally got around to building a straight up SQ box for the Type R's (customer's box)... and oh man they sound superb in the right box... it reminded me of a few w7 setups I have heard, only the 2 R 12's were alot louder lol.

The 1500d will put out around 12-1300wrms. there wont be much of a difference from 1200 to 1500wrms. If he can get the directed for a lot cheaper than some 1500w amp, I would suggest the directed.
with it wired to its lowest rec'd impedence... expect no more than 600-700 watts. This is of course true with most any 1200 wattish amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The directed is crazzzy cheap.. pretty dam good deal.

sorry for the caps lock guys

just kidding, anyway, I still vote T1, I feel the quality of the new subs are very good,

I wish I could play with a t2 somemore

Did you ever consider a pair of Type R 12s instead of three 10s?
My vote goes to a pair of Type R 12s.
i do have the room for some type r 12s put why would i go from 600watts to 500watts each sub??BUt i would go with 3 10s! but i guess i will keep what i have for now??the same......

What the f*ck are you talking about? Just feed the Type R's 600 watts, they'll be fine. Some folks feed 1,200 daily on one and they have no problems.
