I have a question for you guys...
Ok so I have my first real sub setup and all, 15" TC-3000 on a Sundown amp, sealed. My totally wild guess is that it does maybe 135-137db from where I am sitting.
Anyway, the 96 camry this is in is uber-deadened, 120ft of raamat, 30lb of butyl/asphalt cement, and lots of foam. Outside the car with the system cranked on bass heavy songs, it is barely loud at all - when I shut the door it is like the **** thing is soundproof, pretty incredible really how much it blocks. I think a car next to me with the windows up might just feel a little bass, but definitely not loud. So when I roll my windows down or open the door, the shit rattles houses. I tested it with my own house, ran inside with car in driveway and the doors and window frames were shaking with windows down - windows up I couldn't hear or feel a thing.
When I hear about super loud drivebys, do these people have their windows down? Or does all the deadening just make a huge difference? I literally cannot imagine how loud the systems must be to be thunderous from a distance with windows up unless a non-deadened car is much louder on the outside. I can definitely see drivebys being crazy if they have windows down though.
Just thought I would throw that question in here... Thanks dudes.
