the loudest system you've ever heard..

Good Nite son! How do you fit a 15 in a regular cab??? that is insane! Let me know your secrets! You must be some master craftsman or something!....or a genie....
The seats were ALL the way forward, and the setbacks were straight up. That's how. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's not a daily driving setup, it is specifically for competition purposes, and is very uncomfortable to drive liie that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If competition allows temporary boxes to be placed in the vehicles that make them barely driveable, why do they have any rules at all? Seems to defeat the purpose, this is CAR audio after all. If we are allowed to throw any box in we want, regardless of how it affects the driving ability of the vehicle (certainly not a safe situation), just for the afternoon of the competition, why not just use an air compressor or something? Your box is never used except in competition, and renders your vehicle *almost* undriveable. If you have to be a midget to drive the vehicle, it should be in an unlimited class, or not competing at all. *shrug* I find this very lame. One of the reasons I dont like competing.

No offense to the competitors here, just dislike the irratic rules.

Well, how about this, I exploit the rules because I have a regular cab truck.

If you look at nearly any DAILY box in a regular cab truck (including my daily box), it most likely goes past the b-pillar on some part of the box. That's where the "no b-pillar" rule comes in to effect. They don't want to not allow a person to compete in ANY organization just because they have a regular cab truck.

See what I'm getting at?

I just use that rule to my advantage and build a big honkin' box that barely fits in to my truck. And until they make a rule against it, i'll continue to do it.

I *can* drive my truck daily with that box in if it comes down to it, it is just uncomfortable and I do look a tad ridiculous driving it like that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif And I do use that box for more than just competition, I'll also throw it in for any car shows or get togethers that I may attend as well. And actually, with the way my single 10" SPL box is, the driver's seat is all the way back, making it perfectly comfortable for daily driving.

And FYI, my truck isn't that loud anyways. I'd get my *** handed to me in db drag or pretty much any other organization that meters sealed up, on the dash. No matter how big my box is, or what # it does in the kick, my truck HATES being sealed up.

Don't you think 1-note wonder fart boxes in CRX's that only play 70 hz and are only used for competition are just as lame? At least my SPL setups peak between 43 and 44 hz and allow me to play pretty much any music I please.

Not many people do what tommy does, I only know of one other competitor that has a box in their vehicle that impedes daily driving of it. And really no one has ever brought it up in MECA, mainly because 99% of competitors are too lazy to swap out boxes in the first place....so its never been an issue.

Besides, its fun to watch tommy get in and out of the truck with that box in it, hehe //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Whats funny is people say my jeep is extremely loud on the outside, but its like Tommy's truck when its sealed up, it does piss poor dash scores because him and I both have set up our systems to peak loudest in the kick at the moment.

A guy I used to work with came to the store the other day, and he said he put a 15" in his truck. I was a little interested, so he said to come see it. Well, he was in a like a 1980 single cab s10, the 15" was in the passenger seat, it was a Q Power getting all it's power from a Dual headunit XFD. It sounded so crappy and quiet, but he was in love with it. I really wanted to show him my 8"s, but I was on the job and couldn't get to my truck.

Quite honestly yes, I think the 70hz tuned one note wonder fart boxes are a bit ridiculous. Dont get me wrong I have tons of respect for the people who excel at it, but if it wont even play music, is it really a stereo, or just an air pump. That stuff all fine and dandy for the pro's I guess, but not for daily driver trucks at local comps. IMO.

I never doubted you *could* drive your truck that way, but if you *dont*, because its uncomfortable, the point's still the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Dont get me wrong Tommy, Im not badmouthing you, you are using the rules to their most advantageous. I would expect a true competitor to do nothing less. Im not suggesting you are doing anything wrong, you are following the rules. Its the rules I dont care for. But then, Im sure just about any way you'd try to classify vehicles/systems would be advantageous for some, and not for others.

Thus why it's hard to have a "perfect" organization to compete in. Some people benefit from the rules while others don't.

But hey, at least I can slam my SPL setup daily if I please. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I hope your truck isn't a clutch. I could not imagine driving with the seats all the way forward in my truck.

my boy had 4 15 alpine type R's ran off a earthquake 4000.1 , h hit 147+ at dB drag..other then that my 2 alpine type r 15's slam id like to know what they hit, plus i have them crammed in a ext. cab taco...
