the loudest system you've ever heard..

my cousin hit 157.3 in a expedition with 4 memphis 15's and a ma audio 8800w amp..... the **** box was huge, i mean it took up the whole back of the expedition and was vented to 48hz.......it shook stuff off the walls of his shop and a book store owner from three stores down walked down to his shop and said he was disturbing his customers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The 3 loudest cars I remember hearing are listed in order of loudest to not loudest.

1. A Blazer belonging to a guy here in WI by the name of Josh Mertzig. At the time he was running 22 Image Dynamics 12's. Had cement lined doors and interior with a lexan windshield. Did 173.9 on the meter (I think that may have been old USAC judging standards)and the ground shook for literally 200 yards. Prior to this he had 8 Soundstream SPL 160's and I think 4 Class A 6.0's this incarnation is still my favorite ground pounder of all time.

2. My buddy used to have 16 JL Audio 12W1-8 ran by 2 Phoenix Gold MS-2250's (the cool ones with the fan shrouds) in a 2 door Blazer. That thing could hit 155 at any freqency over 20. My insides still hurt from that one.

3. The old MTX Astro that had 16 Thunderpro 12's (the ones with the semi-flat cones) in a big ported box powered by 8 Thunder 2160's. That thing shook the hell out of the shop it was parked in front off.

I just realized that I'm sounding pretty old school by this post. Mark

Got a buddy with a crx. 6 CVR 15's and 3 Memphis Pr amps 1kwrms each (dont know exact model). It made my insides hurt and it sounded good, too. He had 2 comp sets in it.

It was a very long time ago, but still probably the two loudest I remember hearing/sitting in were:

A Nissan Pathfinder with 4 Orion XTR 15DVCs. The enclosure was a 6th order bandpass that filled the entire rear end of the vehicle; the rear seats were gone. The whole bottom end was powered by a single 2100HCCA. There were 3 MB Quart 3 way comp sets in the truck with the mids and tweets in the doors and the midbasses across the front of the sub enclosure. Whole high end was run off a single 225HCCA. Competed in IASCA in the 100-250W class and was one of the louder vehicles in the class at the time (at least in the Southeast). Set up for SQ. It sounded great up close at low volume and a block away at high volume.

The other was 9 JL 15W6s in a Pathfinder with each trio on their own 2100HCCA. It was just obnoxious loud.

Neither of these would really be loud by todays standards, but at the time ('91 and '96 respectively) they were pretty loud. Especially considering that neither really went crazy trying to get the highest mic score. They were both daily drivers that were meant to listen to music and both only had A/B Class amplification to work with...

It would have to be a local young guy that used to own 2 DD 9515's with about 8 amps, Cadence ones, 4 per driver. I think he was pushin 5600 watts per sub. Anyway, it was a wall of course, in his Chevy Lumina of which he and some local friends and his dad built up. He burped 155 for me....I had to get out. But he managed 160.x just before he got into a wreck with it. Since then, I haven't heard from him.

hey...i just got from tahlequah (oklahoma), and i heard by far the loudest system i've ever heard...this dude had 6 10" digital design subs, i think they were the 9900's or somethin like that...it was in a honda crx, and he said it's only tuned to 48Hz, but when he gets through tweeking it it'll be tuned to 60Hz and it should bust out his front glass along with his back glass....it was on the radio playing some tupac song and i couldn't hear myself talk....he also said he was ranked 4th in the world, i don't know if thats true or not, but it was awesome.........also, whats the loudest system you've ever heard (in person like in daily life, not at a comp.)
Was the car black?? If so, I think I saw pics of it at Termpro.

the Ho problems truck and orion demo van at the DB drag world finals

do searches for info.. and yeah according to NG the ho problems truck hit 180 db but ****ed up on their actual run.
