Everything you need to know has been mentioned. I was looking for the same thing in the new audi. Nothin too loud, but something that sounded good and didn't sound stock.

There you have a system that bumps, and you can tell it's not stock from outside in, but doesn't annoy everyone and sounds very good on the inside. =]

Bad link.....but http://www.profilecaraudio.com/amplifiers.htm The CA600M seems like a good choice but does it really need 4 gauge wire? I got 8 gauge laying around and I don't think that amp draws that much current?

8ga power wire would be plenty for that amp....That would be a good cheap basic system.....

4ohm svc? wiring problems mostly. Well only in terms of amps that give out the most power @ 1 ohm. But if I got a Profile amp, I guess there wouldn't be a problem. Maybe I should go with Mach 5.

My g/f wants a decent system for not too much. She doesn't like it crazy loud, just some good bass. The only thing I have is a PA sterling series ten. I thought it would be ok for her but its a 4 ohm sub. She would probably want around 400 or 500 RMS. So I'm looking for a single sub setup, ported. Mach 5 is an option but I think the Maw 12 is a svc 4ohm. Suggestions please. She doesn't want to spend a lot of money and I'm broke as hell. Also, please don't post something stupid like a DD or a IDmax because this isn't an spl or sq setup, just a basic, starter setup. That^ and the profile amp would do pretty nice for a cheap system. Otherwise, try the Mach 5 Audio driver. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Hey, Well if your from akron ohio then I would try to get her some cheap american bass xo's as a starter system with a 1000 crunch amp. The xo's are 300rms and they are decent subs. I live in cleveland but use to work out in ellet and there is a shop on canton rd in ellet that may have them. If not call audio outlaws in cleveland or best for less theres a bunch of shops and american bass are decent subs. You can get the xo's anywhere from 50-100 a piece,a 1000 watt crunch amp for under 150 and a box from 50-100 so your not spending to much.

i'm from the cleveland area too, and let me tell ya, everybody and their mothers have american bass xo's out here! to say the least, they ****. they'd be good for a beginner, but other than that they ****. my two 12's bump quite a bit louder than several kids with two 15's.

to the original poster. if you want a quality sub, i would definitely suggest a pair of 10" sd2.5s or maybe one 12" or perhaps a 15".

Ok, They may **** but for a beginner system they are not bad. The guy asked questions for a beginner system for his girlfriend and something that was cheap. I never said they were the best subs or the loudest but for the money they are not bad for a girl. The only good subs american bass makes are the vfl extremes. Only thing with those are they are competition subs so they are expensive. I think for the money and for a beginner system the xo's and dx's are fine. Sorry that your mr big bad system kills everyone elses.
