Whats It Mean When My Subwoofer Makes A 'Pop' Sound?

Well, I have a Fi Q 12" wired at 1 ohm, on my Hifonics BXi 1606D amplifier, and the gains are halfway, and all the settings I believe are good on the amplifier (did it by ear, and dont say use a volt meter thingy, because mine broke and its too complicated). Now Ive had this sub about 4-5 months, and recently, its been doing a 'pop' sound heard by my friends and they say its noticeable (im hearing impaired, didnt catch it). What does this mean? It only does it during 2 rock songs that I have, everything else is fine. Do I turn my gain down? My level a little higher (my volt head unit output is 2volts, its around there or tiny bit lower).

Any input? I havent been on here since I put my sub in, about 4-5 months ago, so Im a little sketchy on things now, haha.

I dont know how to tell if theres clipping? And Im scared that Ill blow my sub, but if I dont leave it where its at, I wont be satisfied with a Fi Q at 1200 watts about, give or take.

Does anyone think its better to get a another 12" Fi Q and put both into a sealed box, or 1 FiQ 15" ported? Its all I can fit into my trunk. Im thinking sealed with 2 Fi Q's but it wont be as loud I heard..?

Any input on that and the popping would be alot of help. Thanks.

The popping could be the sub bottoming out after the suspension and everything has been broken, turn down the gains just a bit and it should fix it.

Also are you using a subsonic filter, if not those 2 rock songs may just have that low of a note to make your sub bottom out.

So technically if I turned my gain down a little bit, the subwoofer is still in fine condition? Because it still hits good and low, just only 'popped' during 2 rock songs with low notes.

like they were sayin turn on your sub sonic filter if you have one, most of them I believe are set for around 30hz and a few of them are adjustable.

your sub is probably just bottoming out from too low of notes, the sub should still be fine but fix it before u do hurt it
