The do's and dont''s of my first wall....it seems like something isn't right....

Any updates on this?
I think after multiple failed attempts and not taking people's advice, I would have chosen another hobby. The word "don't" isn't in your vocabulary.
i knew it was going to be a fail. i tried to help. to ******* bad. live and learn. i spent entirely to much money on car audio. he did take advice. bad advice. i told him keep it simple. the drivers where not a good configuration and trying to build a complex box out of 2x4 was retarded when a properly double-layer box was MORE THAN ENOUGH.

RIP

Your right don't isn't in my vocabulary.....because i know for a fact i can make all three work....these 18's dont require 30 cubes to play properly like everyone seems to think....and yes i have some updated pictures

One piece instead of multiple pieces

Built a frame around the port for an extra surface area to screw the port walls to it

Used some 45's for more surface area for the back piece and the piece that's angled at the top

And yes all the advice that was given to me was bad advice....i think the first design i had with the two 10" sonotube ports would have been perfectly fine. Csc_stang came up with the design for me. So if you want to talk **** on it then your saying he doesnt know how to design boxes. I just needed to double up the layers and brace better and i would have been set. Even with two on bottom and one on top. They played just fine and were loud as fuc k.....i just had major wood slap because of inproper bracing....i dont care what any of you say, i know i can make them work. And i will prove all of you wrong, i can guarantee you that, and to tell me i should find another hobby is fuc king retarded....none of you knew jack shi t about car audio when you first started....you guys went to shows and talked to people, and figured shi t out through trial and error.....just like i am. So fuc k you for thinking i cant learn anything. Im actually a very quick learner.

Looking much more solid and airtight. Keep it up. Also adding more 2x4's onto the port the way you have was what I meant. You can now easily add or remove sections to adjust tuning and then use ply/MDF to make the port walls smooth and clean looking, or build inserts for various port sizes.

Thank you hispls for the positive feedback, very much appreciated! That gives me a good confidence boost! Keeps me motivated for sure. And i apologize for being a dic k....it just really pisses me off when people sit there and keep telling me that everything i do is going to fail and i should just find another hobby. Thats fuc king bullshi t....i thought a forum was for people to go to to be able to get help from one another. Not sit there and bash on there setup. And yes i agree it is looking much more solid and sealed up compared to before. For the port will i be ok with doing one layer since the air is just being pushed out of it and not against it like the rest of the box?

And chaseinbass i almost have it the way i want it.....i shrank it down to 22 cubes. I still need to put the two back pieces on and put the port walls on.....do you think i should do roughly 270 square inches or 250 or 218-ish? Cause i know 300 is to much for them....they wouldn't build enough pressure

3 things that dominate output among installs. frequency response, power input and coupling.

you can have 12 18s if the desired FR and input doesn't exceed 2 15s frequency response and abilitly to couple the front and rear wave its not going to be louder.

This is how many people do so well. they have A the ideal Frequency response and SICK input power or use coupling techniques and efficient design.

you would be better off doing 2 18s in a SIMPLE box with 2 10" ports than trying some off the wall build what i huge odd shaped leaky enclosure.

I'd do two layers of ply over the 2X4s you have as port depth now. My port wall is short and still flexed at 2 layers without bracing. Also adding layers will shrink port area AND if you do 45 degree cuts you can somewhat flare the openings which always helps.

Don't start rushing now! Airtight and rock solid EVERYWHERE. Even small leaks or weak spots will destroy your results.

You better ask hispls or cscstang on port area I am no help there. I think cscstang said mine was around 225 inches of port and thats two 10.5 octo ports for two 18s in around 14 cu ft.

Gotcha hertz mafia! Thank you for pointing that out! I'll add a few more screws to that piece to pull them together. And hispls i dont plan on rushing lol....I'm taking my time for sure! Especially since I'm in the middle of pulling my motor and transmission as i type this. So I'm bouncing back and forth between the two so i don't overthink anything on the wall....and what exactly do you mean flare the end of the port? I cant picture it in my head lol. Im more of a visual person.

I suggested starting big and lengthening/shrinking a little at a time or using inserts to test.
