generally they coincide together bud. a 150 is still gonna feel like a 150 over a 145 on both the ear o meter and the meter.

im my setup alone what sounded louder meausred 2db lower than what metered good just by moving the box around.. i've heard so many setups that sound LOUD but meter terrible. your ear and the meter are two different things.

the loudest frequency was also 38 to our ears yet 50 metered 2db louder although the 38 was probably the same output at the hear rest still legal it was 2db lower..

Mine were octoports @CSCStang built for me and he did an awesome job ! I built the box as I have woodworking skills also mine is single layer plywood with a lot of pipe bracing ( 4 poles front to back and 4 poles top to bottom ) I have no flex problems.

And stop worrying about the 8000 watts after rise your not even going to be close in fact I bet its just about right . If its too much you set the gains correctly and forget about it ! Get over the three subs and move on ! If you dont have room you dont have room !

just have a nice supply of molly, hit up a few music festivals and keep in good shape and you should get laid pretty easy man. As for your truck, just roll with your windows down and give a few demos at some college event nights.

I don't want to mix molly with clonazepam, xanax, and zoloft. Those four probably wouldn't go good... Plus, I wouldn't give a girl something I wouldn't take. I'm very against giving girls drugs/alcohol in order to get them to sleep with you. I feel that is morally wrong, and that's where i draw my line.

I have given demo's, but it's a huge campus and I also don't want to advertise my system to the wrong people. My tailgate lock got screw-drivered.

Oh yes i know that lol, but regardless I've never had anything over 3000 watts....and yeah i was thinking the same thing, it's probably just about right, which is one of the reasons i chose all three in the beginning....i figured I'm getting about 6000 after rise....SO I tore out the back and the port, and the side thats on the driver side...i guess that would be the left side lol....I'm starting to think that they had to much cubic feet. Because like i said....they were considerably louder in the original box compared to now.....and they had 18 cubes before.....and right now they've got roughly 31 cubes, so tomorrow I'm going to shrink it overall down to 24 cubes after displacement. I'm almost 100% positive they'll have a huge increase in output.

I didnt realize the design called for two sheets all the way around.....it looked like one layer...so yes that was absolutely my fault....but i also viewed it on my phone. And yes jeff that's what i was wanting to do in the first place, obviously add the second layer, then figure out the best way to properly brace it and figure out the shape of my car to make the facia....which is where i was stuck at when i first made this thread. And i tore up the second design because everyone kept saying 18-20 cubes was to small and i would choke them out and they wouldn't perform properly. So i listened to everyone's advice and made it even bigger to where it's at now and because i had to piece it all together from the wood that i had been using now it looks like a hopeless piece of **** and i apparently dont know jack shi t about car audio and blah blah blah. And i need to sell them and get something else. And ive talked to jeff many times before this thread....actually he's the first person i talked to on this forum and he's helped me tremendously on a few designs and what would work best, and gave me his opinion on stuff and answered random questions i asked. And i listened to him every fuc king time and the results were always perfect! Oh and the first design (from csc_stang) that i built was identical to what he sent me....the only difference was it was single layered instead of double layered.....i can guarantee you that. And i haven't posted pictures because i was to busy earlier to upload the pictures to my photobucket.....i dont beat around the bush about anything....and so we're clear the sides weren't made out of fu cking foam and roofing tape....i put a couple pieces on a couple seams to see how it would do. And in the corners where the foam was....i had screws there like your supposed to have....im not stupid....there was just a very very small gap in a few spots and i didnt have any liquid nails so i used the foam instead. I was told to fill the gaps with foam right?!.....

8 cubes per driver will pound down low. Those drivers have a weak motor and need alot of airspace.

You need to play with you tune and port area. Pay attention and watch it for a sub or subs or unloading if they are you need to put a baffle to help load the cones

And without a meter your guess is about as good as anybody else's there's no which one way to put it put in the meter at the headrest or at the dash is the only real way to do it.

I've heard 815 zon 15000 Watts sound so loud you would think it was doing 60 but he was barely breaking a 54

no, metered at the driver head rest is different from the windshield. You are just dictating what part of the car gets the most pressure. Its the same thing as if you lower the opposite window down and seal your side up. All the pressure goes to your side.

But a 150 capable car will still be loud as a 150 capable car vs a 145.

I guess ya never head a car that sounded loud but didn't meter very will. I've heard so many people swore was 160 barely break 150 and heard cars that sounded like high 140s do mid 150s. I know what you mean but I've just experienced many systems sound loud but meter poorly.

Part of it is its metering good at the head rest but just not at the dash. Typically the dash is 5 to 8 hz higher than the headrest with walls. Granted to hard to go by a thing they have so many variables but I generally its in that area.

Now n days people are tuning low in large cabins which goes hand and hard at tge dash and to the ear.

i actually have, a 149 db truck that hurted more than the 160 db gmc jimmy. In general though, most setups, you can tell if its a 140 db car or a 145 or a 150 and be pretty spot on.

Yea. Some setups pressure really good some have that punishing sound.
