The do's and dont''s of my first wall....it seems like something isn't right....

True hispls....is it pretty easy to tell if they're bottoming out? Cause the first time i played them in the big box im not 100% sure they were actually bottoming out. I think it nay have been the wood flexing mkre than anything. And i forgot to upload the pictures earlier lol
Should be pretty hard to bottom out 3 18s on your power in any box, but go easy at first and see how much they're moving. Keep in mind your first try was so weak that after the sides got done flexing the box wasn't controlling the cones much if any, so I'd guess any rattling would be a combination of things.

Bottoming out the coil will sound like smacking the bottom of an empty coke can on anvil. Spiders hitting the top plate is a different kind of crack but either should be obvious they're coming from the driver. If the cone seems under control you can start pushing how loud and how low you can go before you start running up to mechanical limits. Gain and use subsonic filter appropriately from there.

Looking pretty solid finally. I'm a bit worried about the back side of the port being too close to the back of the box. How long are those port walls?

If that port is 20X24" still just the thickness of the baffle + loading along the top and side should tune a 30 cube box down to 35-37hz.

I'd take those port walls right out and test before you go adding any more depth. I'm guessing you'll be happy with something half that length.

Holy shi t adulbrich thank you for pointing that out, I didnt realize I flipped it! Thank you for pointing that out.....I'm definitely open to suggestions for placement! Also i need somewhere to mount my amps. And hertz mafia do you mean that in a good way or bad way? Lol....hispls i was also thinking that....but then again i wasn't to sure for the fact that its 30 cubes instead of like a regular box....but i guess the rule would apply no matter the size of the enclosure....so if i take the port walls off what will that put the tanning at? And at the moment with the baffle the port is 20 inches deep.

Without those port walls the subs "see" about 14-16" of port depth. Tuning should be 36-40hz.

Assuming you box in those batteries you could probably mount the amp on top of them.

Good eye, Alex!

No problem. If you can, use wood to make a small rack and either put it above one of your other batteries, or at least put a secured sheet of plywood between the battery and anything it can short out to.

Just realized i said that twice in the same sentence lol....retard moment ha....yep i was actually thinking about stacking them lol...i **** speech to text...just realized it said tanning...and yeah the rack for the batteries sounds like a plan, that's what i was thinking.....great suggestions hispls and alex....looks like that's what ill do!

Ok i was able to do a little bit of testing earlier....and they weren't loud at all....and the port is definitely WAY to big....so I'm going to shrink it down when i get home.....should i add the pieces to the side or the top? Or both because of the angle on the side?

Ok so I think I figured out the port, hopefully lol....If I figured it up right in torres I think at the moment I'm tuned to 34hz.....but They don't seem loud at all. Like they can't force the sound waves out, It's like when the bass note is played it's kinda loud and then rolls off instantly and they feel like they're feathery if that makes any sense at all lol. Sorry I can't think of another way to describe it. But gives me a few minutes and I will update with some pictures.

Ment not enough air space for the 18s, or your severely unloading your subs with that much ports. Yes port is good, it allows airflow, but to much and your subs can not pressurize. Imagine it as a piston in your car. Pressure helps combustion. Remove the pressure and engine is useless. Subs are the same way. Unless your running a ib system. Your trying to build time in a day. It took me two months to do my build in my spare time but the wait was soooo worth it.
