Testing amps, correctly.

I think that is what the guy I talked to was referring to. I just figured and amp works or it doesn't. He was the one that got me interested in looking deeper into them.

These are basic amplifiers guys

If you have a basic knowledge of circuits you can easily learn simple amp repair

Most of the time it's fets and resistors

Then more complicated you need to diagnose caps and transformers

Then most is drive boards filters and all the tiny stuff

Start with something easy and work your way up

Find a damaged output fet, replace it and anything damaged associated to it. Then test it

Work your way up

Do some reading on repairs and try to find someone willing to help get you started

Im aware that you cant look into the crystal ball of the amps fate, but yes, testing for faulty parts is what i was talking about, and mosfets along with other components can be suffering from solder points that are on the brink of failing etc etc
Ok, then I agree

For the sole purpose of just wanting to learn and get a head start with some of my classes, I bought a circuits book that I've been reading when I ****. Good read and I've learned a lot.

You can learn a lot while pooping.

Good to see someone that just wants to learn something new. Good for you OP.
