Testing 15" Nightshade SPL

Some testing @ an SPL show with two 15" Nightshade D2 (original stock, short coil version):

* At the windshield, legal dB Drag Style

* In the passenger side kick panel with the driver door open "Outlaw" style

* New box for two 15s

* Another shot

I have four SAZ-3000Ds @ 16v.

If I go down to two SAZ-3000Ds I only lose 0.8dB from the above - I believe I am running into a battery limitation as I only have 6x Powermaster D1000s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am going to try 8x SAZ-1500Ds on two Dual-1 Nightshades with our newer, longer coils soon.

PS: ALL of my testing is at exactly 50 hz all throughout the thread. No matter what my Jeep has peaked at 50 Hz with any setup.

have you seen a noteable difference in the comp between say, 2 3000ds and 4 1500ds?

I blew my subs, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've done quite a few shows with these (in fact, they were used subs when I got them and put them in the Jeep) but finally killed them playing music for people with just a LITTLE too much power *laughs* Totally my fault - should have been a bit more careful with nearly 10kw on tap per driver.

I need to do some tuning or something to mine, (1) 15" nightshade dual 2, (1) saz 3000.. only 139.9 car off on music with (1) deka 9a31.. Amp kept going into protect (which I am assuming was from low voltage) before I could put up a good score

watch the low voltage;)

and as with any system it is 90% planning and install. do you know what your tuned to? do you know what your car is tuned to?

Box is tuned to 36hz 55 square inches of port the rest of the shows he will have the car idling so i don't think low voltage will be an issue and he is replacing the front stock battery with a orbital so that will help a ton also..
