tc 3000 on ~ 370 watts ar 4 ohm?

would it be a bad idea to run a tc 3000 with that amount of power? The tc is quad 1 ohm so i can wire it to 4 ohm... will it still be decent in a 1^3 cu ft sealed?
i'm looking to do this before i cough up enough to get a 2000 rms amp...

The coils are actually 1.4ohms each so the final load would be 5.6 ohms and be closer to 6-7 ohm nominal impedance.

300 watts is not that great for that driver, but its actually not that bad but the TC-3000 would not be my first choice for that amp. Despite its huge appearance its surprisingly pretty sensitive, especially the +CP version. the 12" can get up to ~87.5dB... really not a bad number for the kind of excursion it can do.

The larger drivers actually have higher sensitivity than the smaller ones, contrary to believe, larger speakers would theoretically be more suitable for smaller amps, however there reaches a point where there is so much BL product that you need an amplifier that can generate a huge Voltage (not necessarily large power levels or watts) Many amp's can't actually do this, but those that can are the ideal amplifiers for these massive motors because of the huge back EMF which can neutralize the voltage.

i know this is kinda different, but ive been running my MT 18 off 500 watts in my basement for about 3 months now. My buddy brought a crown macrotech over that was 3200 per channel, and ran that for about a week. The crown was certainly a ton louder, but 500 watts makes it work. just dont send it a clipping signal and you'll be fine...

so heres a bit of change, i decided to instead stick this driver in my honda ridgeline instead, so i could edo a ported box under the rear seats, i hear that subs in ported enclosures are much more efficient and does not require a lot of power to get it going, how do you guys feel about this? also i have a crown jbl px600.2 laying around in my basement somewhere and i can use that which would provide around 700 rms at 4 ohms

so to summerize, how would a tc3000 sound in a ported box running 4 ohms with 700 rms?

i wouldnt buy a tc driver with the many other companies availibe out on the market.. also the way they have treated a couple friends of mine makes me question there business practices..

i would check out fi car audio just because the simple fact is they are basically charging dealer prices since they dont have a dealer network //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

k, thanks for the advice, i'll look into them... also this is going into a honda ridgeline under the rear seats. is it possible to make a ported box that will fit under the seats? all i know is that the box can be 9" tall and be as long as the rar seats.
