Is 500/1 & 12W6V2 Overkill?

Trying to decide if should do this:

500/1 & 12W6v2

or this:

250/1 & 12W3v3

Has anyone compared these 2 subs to each other?

Goal is SQ: tight, clean bass. Does not have to be heard outside the car. Car is an Impreza, sealed box. 6.5" MB Quart QSC216 150rms in front only with a 300/4 bridged, no rears.

I'm not too concerend about spending the money for the 12W6, the point is that if I would never end up turning it up past 3 out of 10 for example, why not just get the 12W3 if it's plenty loud with great SQ?

The w6 has far beter SQ, I'm not a fan of W3's, or W7's, but thats me.

The w6 will also get louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sealed box? The w6 would be nice and clean //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The 500/1 is not overkill. It is perfectly matched for that sub in a sealed enclosure. I had it. I recommend the combo if you can justify the costs.

Personally I have grown to believe there are better amps out there for less money. The sub I think is worth it at wholesale prices.

if u can break 150dB's then you're in the neighborhood of overkill IMO.........with a single 12w6v2, i dont see overkill happening anytime soon...however i DO see a very happy you with some clllllean sounding bass
