I've recently been having problems with my system as the title saids. My system is a 12w7 powered by the 1000/1 amp from JL. I've had this running for about a year now. Now my problem is how now when I listen to it around the day, the bass would suddenly cut out or go into this rumbling bass note. I thought it was the heat at first since right now california is in some serious heat, but sometimes rarely it would happen at night as well. help me out guys thanks.

does the amp cut off and on? and what do u mean by rumbling?
whenever I check on the amp when the bass cuts out, it reads normally with just the power light on. and the rumbling noise is just that, there is a really low rumbling noise caused by the sub when the bass cuts out or even behind the regular bass.

i've had that problem before and the problem was never in the rca's, it was always a ground problem. check your ground maybe after one year something happened and you didn't noticed.

But also check the rca's.

Try and ground your rca cables and see if it fixes the problem. Take a piece of wire and hook it up to the ground on your amp and touch it on the rca's while its rumbling. My brother had a similar problem with an mtx amp. When the bass is cutting out, it sounds like the ground on ur rca cables might be shorting.

same thing happened to me last year and it ended up being the RCA's i just replaced them and problem went away. The way i found out was my friend connected his RCA's to my amp and the sub played fine but with mine it would just rumble, so i would suggest trying that out.

I have checked the ground connection cable and the rca jacks on the amp side and everything seems to be working. but I seem to only have the bass cut out or the low rumble at around volume 15 out of 35. still dont know what it could be

You said you checked the RCA cables on the amp side. Does that mean u checked to make sure they were plugged in, or did you swap them out with a working pair and determined that wasnt the cause? Sounds like a faulty ground, whether it be in your RCA's, your head unit, or your ground wire itself.

Make sure the ground wire from the amp is connected to a metal surface making sure there is a metal to metal contact.......meaning no paint or plastic parts. Then, swap out your RCA's with a new or known working pair and see if it still does it. If it still does it after that, I would then take a look at your preouts on your HU.

What kind of head unit do you have? Some Pioneer units are known for having preout problems.

here are some pics of the wiring on the amp side. tell me if anything is wrong.
