system keeps cutting in and out

hey, i have a 12" MTX 5500 sub - 300wrms

and a MTX Thunder 600xd amp

it keeps cutting in and out when i crank up the radio

the little red light on the amp is staying on (for the most part....it will flicker once or twice after it cuts off)

im not SURE but i believe the guys at the audio shop installed it with an 8 gauge power wire to my battery (i dont know but its a red soundquest wire and on the outside it just says EIGHT)

my amp is pretty much always hot, but its black and i live in pheonix, arizona....

when i crank up the volume my battery voltage meter goes down when the sub hits if its a song that hits hard. when it gets to about 10 or 11 it cuts out, until i turn it down n let the meter rise to 13 again.

i had my alternator checked and they said it was fine.

btw, i drive a '97 camaro

Maybe a bad ground? What kind of amp and speakers/subs on it? Maybe they were wired incorrectly, to an ohm load too low for the amp to be stable on.

my friend kinda has the same issue. When he turns up the volume, his bass keeps on pounding but all 6 speakers shut down, while the car is filled with bass. I'ma check his ground, then again all his wires are everywhere in the trunk.

well with me, the speakers keep playing (they arent hooked up to my amp), and its just the bass that completely cuts out for a lil while.

when that volt meter drops to 10 or 11 thats bad. your amp is recieving voltage under 11 volts and thats whats causing it to go in protect. did you upgrade your electrical system?

before you keep on letting your amp cutoff like that, id upgrade that ish before you kill your amp

dude if you are getting 10-11 volt drops with 300 watts.....lmao

turn down your bass boost all the way on amplifier and turn off LOUD on your head unit...that sounds like the problem to me

Check ground , or if it is all good check if the amp is alright sometimes there something wrong with it inside of it
