System clipping

A what and what I'm a grease monkey that jus got into car audio lol
Google is your friend. An oscope or digital multimeter will let you set you're gains, and at 2 volts hu id use one to set gains.

There are plenty of tutorials out there on how to set gains.

Other than that use unclipped undistorted volume level, no bass boosts, and be easy on your gains if you don't use one of those instruments.

A dmm is safer than oscope if you don't know what your doing in my opinion, but either way, listen as you tune with those instruments because your speakers could distort or your system could clip before your reach the desired instrument reading.

I don't use any headunit settings I leave everything default my treble at 0 my bass at 0 and my sub volume at 7 is all default and how do I match my volts on my amp to match the headunit and what the hell is my sub sonic for mine reads 55hz to 155hz I ain't touched it to kno what it do and I keep my low pass at 40 do I need to bring it up on my subs

O but what I'm confused on is my amp also has a bass knob wtf do I need that and bass boost or wat I can guesstimate with the level and my subs are 2 12" fosgate punch hx2 they rms at 500 and peak 1000 a piece my amp at a 1 ohm load rms 1000 and peak of 2000 my amp bass boost is 0-9 my sub sonic is 15-55hz low pass is 40-150hz and I kno my volts it's jus the bass boost is y I'm stumped

These are my sub specs any idea where I put my low pass:

Two 3" 4 Layer LXtended Voice Coils

Coil on Aluminum Former

FIBERLock Cone

Hyper XTended Pole Piece

LXcursion Cast Frame

Dual Laminated Progressive Flat Spider

BART Rubber Surround

CONsealer gasket hides mounting screws and provides an airtight seal

Aeroport Exhaust

Rubber Magnet Boot

Dual 4 Ohms voice coils

Frequency response 26-200 Hz

RMS power handling: 500 watts RMS (250 watts per voice coil)

peak power handling: 1000 watts

Sensitivity 88 dB SPL

Thanks for all the help

Yea put low pass 80hz, subsonic around 45hz, don't use the bass knob, your amp and subs have plenty of power without it.

Setting your gains is important. If you don't be careful you could blow those speakers.
