System choices for an Integra?

stock acura system ownS!!!
It was ok. I wasn't that impressed with its sound quality. Even my friend with a basic Rockford Fosgate (that his shop messed up twice trying to install it then scratched and tore his door panel, claiming that he did it) system sounded better than mine. Hence why I upgraded.

Oh and the all the speakers arrived today, they are quite beautiful and decently heavy. Just got to wait on that amp and accessories and I can begin this.

So after fighting with my car for about a week everything is in and sounding fantastic (I never knew crimping 4 gauge wire could be so difficult!). I can see why you guys mentioned needing a subwoofer, it lacks when the lows hit, but the highs and mids are beautiful. The whole thing just sounds good! There was a little engine whine when I had the sensitivity all the way up for front and rear, but I lowered the rear level and it sounds crisp now, no whine.

I would like to thank everyone in this thread, specifically Tbayz1, MiniVanMan, and DejaWiz for helping me through this process. Without all of you I would probably be listening to some Best Buy employee telling me to get Kenwood speakers FTW... and I probably would have listened. Keep up the good work! I will be sure to come back and get your opinions on a sub when I have the money.

Take care

Yikes. May wanna back off the gains a little more man, speakers do not like high gains.

Beside that, thumbs up. Phoenix Gold surprised me as well. I bought the 804 way back when, to run my sub and rear fill*cavvy*. I now own the ZX in my sig, and a Xenon 1200.1

The 804 is still alive and kicking, surviving three installs, all done by me, a noob at the time.

Good luck with the rest of your stuff man. Glad it worked out.

Glad you like your system and it sounds fantastic!

I think we would all be glad to help you down the road with your substage as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You're welcome! Definitely hit us up with whatever else you need.

And please please please read the gain setting write-up linked in my sig... I don't want you to cook anything that isn't FDA approved. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Excellent. You saved quite a bit of money as well.

Did you end up with the Dynamat or the SecondSkin like I suggested. Hopefully you treated your entire door, because the difference is performance is more than noticeable.

Anyway, glad you like your new setup.

Now for that sub...
