sub working its self out from box???

This has happened to me twice now,,, i have an 18" RE SX, its amazing, but i think it a lil too strong for my box

I have noticed a sound that you would normally think of as a busted seal within the box, but what it actually is, is the screws that are mounting the sub into the box are working themselves loose. Each time i have had to tighten the screws back in and the problem is solved but i was wondering... is there anything that i can do to permantely fix this problem?

Thanks for everyones input

I would try and put some gorilla glue down into the screw holes and some on the screw. Then screw them down into the box and dont play it for a few hours while it cures. (kind of rigged up but it might work). That stuff sticks to anything. Another thing it may be, if you pre-drilled your holes, you may have drilled them to large you could try and drill some new ones with a smaller bit.

Seal up your old holes and screw the sub into a new location (i.e. rotate it). T-nuts are a great choice, but you can get away with most screws. Like a lot of people I have found that I like the way course thread drywall screws work the best.

TEE nuts, and the bolts will cost you $3.00 or somethign stupid at home depot.

You dont have to twist your sub to install them(which would make any logo on your dustcap look totally retarded) -- you can drill out the existing holes, hammer in the tnut to the back of the wood, put the sub down, screw it in as hard as you possibly can (without stripping, but thats highly unlikely) and you're set for life.

Even if you are to scrap the current box, and make another, you can remove the tnuts, and put them in the nest box.

Excellent investment.

Instead of pulling the sub down to the wood, youd be pulling the back of the baffle to the sub, AND the front at the same time... its seriously the only way to go, unless you cant afford the 20 mins, and $3.00.
