Sub won't play music?

Buddy hooked his sub and amp up using his factory hu. He ran the remote wire to the battery since there was no place for it using the factory hu.

Why would the sub not play music? It only makes one constant noise? I have heard this before and a lot of people say the amp?

you dont have to hook the rem wire to ur batt u can run it on the acc wire or something. my wiring harness for my cd player was messed up so we ran the acc wire to an ac wire.

no not really. and why would he run the rem wire all the way to the batt instead of just running it to the power wire on the amp and using a switch or something

ur gain on the amp or loc is up too far. shoot me a pm if ur looking for a loc with remote output..

u can hook up the remote wire to your fuse box. u just need to find the right fuse and rap the remote wire around it and put it back in.

switch the REM wire to ur fuse box. attach it to a fuse that is 12volts but only comes on when the radio is turened on. then turn gain down on LOC. most loc's are a constant 5volt preout...

just talked to him. The sub will not play sound if the rca's are unplugged so atleast thts good

i would bet he bought a peice of shit walmart line out converter, that is probably the problem, I forget the one that everyone posts around here, and yea just hook the rem wire in the fuse box somewhere, fond a switched circuit with a multimeter

I've accidently put the RCAs in the wrong place before and didn't get any sound then I plugged them in correctly and then BOOM..the subs scared me
